 ? Shotgun Choke Ques?

How do I determine shotgun choke if there's no choke marking on the gun?  I inherited two 12 gauge 2-3/4" shotguns back in the 70s. A Remington model 11-48 semiauto that I assume was bought in the early 50s. It's virtually pristine, I don't think a whole box of shells was ever shot down the barrel. And a Montgomery Wards "Browning Ranger" pump. It shows to be a very much used, but not abused, gun. I've never used them, always had them stored away. Got them out of the closet this past weekend for a minor remodeling project and got to wondering...
9x19mm--Anything bigger is statistically insignificant.

Normally it's stamped on the barrel "Mod", "Imp Cyl", "Cyl", etc...I've even seen them stamped fully out but it should be on the barrel.

Got them out of the closet this past weekend for a minor remodeling project and got to wondering... It should be marked on the left side of the barrel near the receiver. If it's not there, try taking the barrel off of the gun and look for markings in areas that you can't normally see. I have a couple of guns that don't have the choke labeled on the barrel, but instead have "hidden" marks that are codes for the choke. For example, my 1970s Browning Citori has a series of stars and dashes (i.e. *-- or -*-) on each barrel that are code for the choke. You have to take the gun apart to see them, though.

Or buy a choke tube gauge.
Drops in the muzzle and it's got markings as to barrel constriction.

If a dime fits sideways it's open. If it don't it's full. That's the best ya can do without a choke gauge. I recommend a choke gauge.

Check the rim for notches. The number of notches tells you the pattern
