I use this. Working on another video showing tons of hogs underneath the lights while they are on. They seem to get real comfortable with an orangish light.

Sniper hog light has by far the best feeder light out. It is not motion activated. It comes on with a solar panel that also charges the battery for the unit. It has a bright and dim setting. The new one has a remote that you can adjust brightness with now. So you don't have to go into your hunting area and scent it up before you hunt.

The cheap solar yard lights at wal mart will work. The hogs really pay them no mind as long as you don't over do it.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

If you always have lights on at night the hogs don't care. Hogs are very wary of change. If the lights are always on then no issues. I think motion lights spook hogs because they are not always on. As far as light color goes they do not seem to see red. Make sure there are no mechanical noises on the motion lights.

I can see the advantage of the lights being on at all time. Specially if your selling batteries along with them. Just wanted to mention the Terminator hunting light comes on ever so gradually and has a chip built into the system to accomplish this. I've personally witnessed the hogs reaction to this. At first some will back out of the orangish light for a second. Then they ease back into it and ignore it.

They mounted on old tent poles, set up in oval shape under feeder... They come on few minutes before dark & hogs get used to it, if they stay around.. Once or twice shooting they learn quick

I have the Sniper Hog Light at my feeder. Expensive, but it has worked reliably for 3 years now. The cheap ones I tried before always crapped out.

I prefer having the actual flashlight(Red), as you can take it to every feeder you have without setting it up. Takes 10 seconds to mount it on your scope. You can cover 50 feeders with one flashlight, whereas you can cover one feeder with one feeder light.

You make a good point Mr. ProneOutfitters. What light do you actually use?

I use the red Elusive Wildlife Kill Lights. I highly dislike green, but no matter how many times I say it, people always end up with green ones anyway. -.-

I've just seen too many pigs spook from green. They're nice if you want to see a little further, but from 100 yards and closer, which is the average range of most hunters, red is better 100% of the time IMO.

I just ordered one. the light I was using, Me Beams, ants killed it. Needed new light. $10 ahipped, worth the risk.
How dim/bright is it? Did you paint it green or red?
I have a Kill light 250 for rifle, but kinda rather have feeder area illuminated. Gives me something to look at when sitting in blind at night.
Mr Beams was just a dim glow, early warning system to let me know something is under feeder. it worked though. Problem was i was just sitting in the dark geting bored and tired.

I have solar powered spotlights shining on my feeders, they come on when it gets dark and shine almost til daylight. None of the animals seem to care about the lights shining around the feeders. I replace the batteries once a year in each light. I bought them at Home Depot after trying some of the green/red hog lights with little success. These solar spotlights were money well spent.

We did use the small landscape lights tied to the feeder legs, that worked good and they lasted a few years for $10 each. On some new hunting spots we used the bigger landscape light with the light mounted on a T-post between the blind and the feeder. That way the light is shining on the side of the pigs in the same direction that you are watching from, much better. We had put red lenses on the lights but they fell out and the pig traffic did not change. I have been using this one for a year now on two feeders and they are still going strong, and many pigs have been killed, under white light. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-Bay-O...-CPK1/204471418

If and I say if because I'm not fully convinced yet, they can't see the light then what difference does it make if it's on or not? I personally use a green Elusive Wildlife feeder light and a red light on my scope. I've killed dozens and dozens with this set up. I have a ton of theories on why and when some spook but there's no reason to argue that. I know what I use works and the guys at Elusive Wildlife are great so I'll stick to their products.

I've used a white light with a motion sensor on occasion. One of the reasons I like them is that I can tell if something is there. Sometimes I've set one near a pig pipe with a camera, and the pictures show a boar coming in the wee hours and staying until sunup. With that knowledge, I can set my alarm and wander out a little before dawn, and if I see the light is on I know there's something there. If it's off, I can hold back a while and see if something shows up. When the weather is mild, I have sometimes put a driveway alert monitor out and then set off a distance and slept until the alert went off, then used the light for shooting. Nowadays I have a digital NV scope, but the light is still nice as an indicator that something has arrived.
I have two unwritten rules: 1. 2.

Mike its a two stage light it glows dim just enough to see under the feeder with binos, but when something gets under it it brightens up, plenty bright for a scoped rifle, i use a iluminated dot which helps even more, my dot has 10 settings 1 being barely visible 3 or 4 is perfect. i did not paint it green or red its white and pigs dont care. the only down fall is coons if they are under the feeder they will wear the batteries capacity out in an hr or so.
