I just recently bought 31 acres west of ranger. I happened to get a elevated blind , pond , feeder with a pen and a few feed plots with lots of trees/shrubbery everywhere.
Since I have only owned it for 2 weeks I have only been able to replace the tripod feeder that was poorly working with a new HB hunting products Feeder with a larger capacity.

I have a lot of mowing/shredding ahead of me however since I just replaced and added the new feeder I figured I would give the pen/feeding area a little attention first.

This is my first pen set up as on leases I have hunted on in the past they didn't need them. My new property has tons of feral hogs so this pen is a must.

I can't tell you if this pen is to small or if it needs some work done to it and made larger.
In a few days of filling the feeder after the purchase of the property I have only seen 1 doe and a dam Racoon.
It's been months since the old feeder had anything in it however with the feeder close to the pond I'm guessing that is how she found it.

Could you all give me some pointers if there is anything you see I need to do with this pen set up or area around it to get it moving in the right direction? Feel free to be up front and honest. I know it probably needs some work so any info is greatly appreciated.

Many on here will say not big enough but to me appears to be 25' diameter or so which which should accommodate 2-3 deer at a time without issue. Seems proportionate to property size in my estimation and looks to be well built with plenty of t-posts and good spacing and height of panels. Looks like a nice property you purchased btw.

I have had thoughts of opening up the back and making it larger.
There is a good 15 feet behind it before you get to a tree.

Enlarging it on the backside would probably allow another deer or two to use it without hesitation. Would be your easiest way to make it bigger, won't really change the dimensions unless you replace the feeder a bit. Do it if you like and enjoy your new property..

Welcome to the forum! Nice looking property......I think your pen size is okay as well. How tall is the fence?

I'm not out there right now so I can't look for myself. How do you connect hog panels to T posts ?

Metal t-post clips tightened or wire twisted.

Great looking property Personally, I like a big pen. If that was mine, I'd probably double the size, or add 4-5 panels. IMO, the bigger, the less hesitant a deer is to jump in.

I would also enlarge it towards the blind, that should keep the visibility at its best, where not as much possibility that a good buck is standing behind obscured by the feeder.

Have no doubt that you could leave it as is and be fine though too.

I would make the pen large enough so every kernel of corn that is spun out of the feeders stay inside it. Bigger pens allow you a better shot angle also from a hunting blind. I would put the gate on a side out of line of site. The larger the pen the better, more deer will feed inside it at one time. I would not do much shredding for about another month to keep the ground cover for fawns and quail.
