Anyone tried these? What is your method and did you like them? Sure does seem like a cheap solution to high dollar boots. I bought a new inner tube at walmart for $7 (extra thick too). If they work like I think they will, I will get at least two sets of boots for that $7. And I intend to hit up a bike shop when I am near one and see if they would give me old ones. Still two sets of boots for $7, sounds like a good deal to me. We bought two sets of lewis boots to try for the first time this season too. I I had a few sets of the grip trex boots but they fell apart after being put up for a couple of years. Took them out to use them and they all fell apart. I really liked them for the two seasons that I used them. Other than that, I couldn't even begin to tell you how many sets of nylon boots I have been through over the years. I am really interested in this inner tube thing, could really save me some money with 9 dogs.
Thanks for any tips and tricks you might be willing to share.

Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

I tried them once. My tubes were too small. I've seen people do mighty fine with the.

I figure it is worth a try. They don't need boots at our lease in Oklahoma but I am going to be testing them there early in the season, so I am prepared for our west Texas hunt that will be late in the season.

Motorcycle shops will give you old inner tubes. Tubes from small front rims might do just fine.

I've used them, altho like Bill, I don't like having to. After cutting the tube up in to boots, just make two parallel cuts on one end of the tube boot, forming what would be the tongue of a shoe or boot. Tape 'em on real good, and let 'em rip! I left the bottom open for drainage. They always seemed to work as well as nylon boots for me.

It works. Just use lots of duct tape.

I've used them quite a while ago. They work ok. I like Lewis better but it's not as painful with the inner tubes to pocket book when fido comes back in limping on 3 legs with a boot thrown. I've also tried the corduro nylon and they don't last very good at all. My preference is to start applying tuff foot about a month before running the dogs in the burrs, it really makes the dog do much better in the grass burrs. I don't like running boots primarily because they can get hung up in barb wire fences, they tire the dog quicker and they are a nuisance to put on. Just my 2 cents. By the way I was in Collingsworth county this week and the burrs are really bad. But I also saw several pairs and flushed a really nice covey of half grown birds.

We always kept out dogs on screenings instead of concrete. Made for a tougher footed dog. Never used a boot in my life.

I am selling some Lewis Dog boots, training collars, tracking collars, beepers collars, and dog collars. See add in classifieds.
