First thing we always did after killing one, if he still had it, was to cut the head off.

This little guy was in the ranch foreman's flower bed too yesterday, fifth one so far this year. He didn't make it either.

SB, looks like you have a rattlesnake mortality problem on your place  I have only killed 2 copperheads this year so far, only one of 2 snakes I kill on sight, copperhead and diamond back water snake, both have nasty tempers.
If at first you dont succeed, then skydiving is not for you..

Yes sir, diamond back water snakes are mean mothers. Moccasins are right behind them. We don't have Copperheads down here. The Blue Indigo's, King snakes, eagles, hawks, and road runners usually keep the rattlesnake population under control around here but there are a lot of snakes this year after all the rain. I don't always kill rattlesnakes, but if they are around the house I kill them.
