I just gave you 3 to go shoot this month, come on...Jason isn't even close to being setup to have one of those and based upon what I've seen he doesn't need more dirtwork

Hold the dang rifle and shoot it!!! And you only have 90 seconds to get off 5 shots 300 to 800 yards. I can do it in less than 60 seconds, so 90 is plenty do-able. PUT YOUR BIG BOY PANTS ON!

I met a customer out at Quail Creek this morning to dial in 2 of his 308 rifles (sorry Jason, I had to, since he had his can we needed to shoot). I had to shoot of the bench. I will say, I do NOT like the bench, especially their's. I can not get situated on a bench like I can when prone. It was more of a challenge for me to shoot well.

Saw on another site the 7mm 195gr Berger Hybrids are in the works. Numbers that are from their testing look pretty good but you will need a faster than standard twist for them 195g Berger hybrid .284 caliber Some have been made and are being tested. Quantities have not been shipped for distribution yet. We're close, within weeks.
Measured Performance: G1 BC = 0.755 (Average from 3000 to 1500 fps) G7 BC = 0.387 (Valid for all speeds) Well it's about time. Now we can finish up the 7mm Titan. 109.5 grains of H20 capacity and still fits in the mag well of a 700 with the long berger bullets.

Noob question.
But I'm assuming this bullet is for short action? Is there standard brass for it do do you need to reshape an existing case?

With that big of a case capacity a long action will be a minimum.

Noob question.
But I'm assuming this bullet is for short action? Is there standard brass for it do do you need to reshape an existing case? Huh? It is a 7mm bullet, therefore it would fit into a 7mm-08, and 284 Winchester, 280 Remington, 280 Remington A.I., 7mm Rem Mag, 7mm Remington Ultra Mag, 7 STW, 7-300 What'd I for get yall? Anyway, running this bullet in a 7mm-08 (short action) would make it pitifully slow. And you would be hurting your external ballistics rather than helping. A 284 Win or 280 Rem would probably be decent, but for me the minimum case sitting under this bullet will be a 7mm Rem Mag. That is what I have and am curently pushing a 180 gr at 3040 fps. I will not seek a certain muzzle velocity with these 195's, but stability and consistency, and let the muzzle velocity be what ever it is.

I am sure you are aware but I'll just restate this for anyone that may have missed it: It's not just about having enough power to push to a decent speed but twist rate to not only stabilize for accuracy, but maximize BC. So here in N.E. Texas at 600 elevation, a 1:8 twist seems like it would stabilize in any temp here. The 1:8.5 will work in the heat, but not near freezing... The bullet is 1.648" long G1 BC = 0.755 (Average from 3000 to 1500 fps) G7 BC = 0.387 (Valid for all speeds) Berger Twist Rate Calculator Good thread where Brian Litz chimes in with actual info. Berger 195gr thread Noob question.

Yes I am aware.
600' ASL generates DA around 3000' this time of year. However, it also generates -300' in the fall and winter. That is when a decent shooting hot weather round can go in the toilet if you're pushing beyond 600 yards.

Well sort of: Temps like now the DA is closer to 4,000, roughly 3,800 and the coldest temps it is closer to +600. I'm sure you knew that all ready though and yours was just a typo. Density Altitude Calculator Yes I am aware.

DA 3000' is what my Kestrel has been giving me lately. Over the years I have paid close attention to DA, and a DA of 3000' vs. 4000' would not be any difference in corrections unless shooting beyond 1k yards.
