Not trying to control heart worms.

Wanting to control hook worms, round worms, whip worms and tape worms.

been told to use 1 ml per 5 lbs for three days.

Seems to be the cheap way to worm dogs.

1000ml at $120 equals $3.60 per dog per month and needed every other month.

Note the 1000 ml is difficult to find at retail locations.

what all will ivomec do besides prevent heart worms. does it kill other worms. i have heard of people spreading diatemaceous earth on their dogs food and it is a natural wormer also

Thats the dosage I use on my dogs, buy by the gallon for about $400 bucks use on cows and horses to.

so safe guard works for all those worms? if you dog doesnt get worms very often is that a waste of money? i ask only because my vet charges me $20 for some medicine that kills all intestinal parasites but i hardly have ever had to use it.
does ivomec treat any other worms besides heartworms

so do you just treat for worms every month even if they show no signs of them?

I treat every other month unless they show signs earlier. Ivomec does not get all the gut worms not sure which are missed. Thanks for the comments

I used Ivomec when I was running a beagle pack. However, I've known of a problem or two others had with their dogs so just remember, that little bit you might save from the vet might cost you later.

I think it is tape worms Ivomec misses.

I've used Revolution heartworm preventive since my dogs were pups. Switched to Trifexis a few months ago, and I haven't had to use a separate wormer in years. I used to get them checked for worms at their yearly checkups. It always came back negative, so I don't see the need to even do that any more. Looking back I guess its been over 5 years since anyone of them had worms.

I'm using Trifexis as well.
