When these threads get going my first thought is I'm glad my wife's not a forum member.

If I start adding it all up its not as fun.....you gotta pay to play. cheers

It's better than the alternative of no money and no property.

$2500 a year for hunting, excluding any processing costs.

$200 a year for fishing. Once you realize the equipment you have is good enough and there is no need to continue upgrading, fishing gets drastically cheaper.

Hunting takes up the majority of mine. I golf a little but other than that most of it is hunting related.

I have dove head first into dogs and retriever training but right now it is paying its own way.

With three kids, my most expensive hobby is paying for their hobbies.

Guns and building on my truck are probably my two most expensive. Used to also be in to racing dirt bikes, but sold the bike earlier this year to fund the build on the gun I'm working on.

I've done Fly Fishing and Harley riding. The most expensive hobbies there are except for my next hobby, Deep Space Exploration!

I don't want to know what I spend on fun as long as it's time spent with people I have fun with. We show calves as a family and that takes a lot more money than I have spent outdoors, but to me it's worth it for the kids. We work hard and we play hard, I have the best group of friends and family in the world and I really enjoy every bit of it. Will I die wealthy? Will I give a [censored]?

My theory is I can't take money with me when I die, so I will enjoy what I have been blessed within earth while
I exist on earth.

I don't have a clue how much I spend in hunting stuff, and I don't even own land; land ownership
Would easily double my costs but yet save me some tax. Hopefully someday soon that will be a reality.

I recently got into surf shark fishing...talk about fun. Expensive entry cost but I have the gear now so cost is more just getting there, and rigs.

My wife would say I spend double what I would say I spend on all this; I will let you figure out who is right hammer

I'm the same way. Happiness is "priceless" so to speak. If you're having to think about it too hard it probably isn't worth it then. That being said I'm sure I could buy a really nice house with all the money I've spent on hunting/fishing over the years.

I'm fortunate, I get away with hunting and shooting fairly inexpensively. I did have an offshore boat for about 10 years. The initial outlay for the boat and tackle isn't the problem, it's the maintenance and day-to-day operations that eat you up. Between fuel and launch/slip fees it was $1k every time I got her wet unless it was raining. Got rid of the GF for the same reason, but that's Bunker material.
