Are these a good deal? Only pair I have is about 20 years old, so need some newer ones.

I have nearly the exact same set of binos. I think my adjustment knob is on the front side of the hinge, but they are 10x42. I highly recommend them. I can look through them for a long period and not have any issues with headaches or crossed eyes, which I have had with many other pairs of binos.

I think I paid about $300 several years ago when I bought my set in preparation for my elk hunt in CO. Mine came with a hard case, the strap that goes across your back (not neck) as well as a few other things in the box.

Highly recommended.

Tim

I would avoid Bushnell, it's a low end brand that has a well earned reputation of poor quality. For the same amount of money on Amazon, you can get some Nikon binoculars. I've found that the camera brand binoculars to be a very good value for what you spend. Still not at the level of the European brands, but for such a huge difference in price, they are what I would be looking at.

These are top of the line for Bushnell. Probably decent glass. But I agree with Eddie that the best bang for your buck is Nikon. To surpass them you have to pony up big dollars on German glass. Before you spend your hard earned $ I highly recommend a trip to BassPro or Cabelas where they have a large number of binos you can compare side by side an really get a feel for the difference. If you still like the Bushnell, then grab them online.

I would say it is a good deal on a great piece of glass. Buy them and if you don't like them, I will trade you for my Zeiss Terra ED 8x42

Bushnell makes glass from $30-2500. They definitely make some junk. With that said I have these binoculars and they blow away my wife's more expensive leupolds in side by side testing. The color is much brighter on the leupolds but it seems almost artificial. The bushnell have better clarity and low light performance.

The elite scopes beat everything in their price range.
