H4350 is about ideal. R17 will get more speeds, but is very temp sensitive. The new IMR 4451 is a great new powder that mimics H4350 burn rate. I have played with it a little bit, and will be switching over to this one in a lot of my ammo.

If worried about recoil, try the Nosler 100 gr Ballistic Tip in the rifle. Works fine on paper, coyotes, pigs and deer and has even less recoil than the 130's or 140's. I push it with IMR 4064.

Another thought to reduce recoil, is to switch to a faster burning powder and reduce the load some. When I ran my 260 Rem in competition, I had a reduced load with H4895 powder that was about 400 fps slower than my full power load. I did this for the barrel burner stages when you are putting about 15-20 rounds down your barrel in about 2 minutes time. The lower powder charge keeps the barrel cooler and does not wear out the throat as fast and prolongs barrel life.

But if you want full speed, then recoil will go up. A brake is great, but louder.
