It sound like you're describing a target scope reticle. What magnification are you looking for?

syncerus ; I really don't know yet..., I am working with a .308 for Hunter class bench rest shooting....I have a German made sporter that I think will do quite well for Hunter class ; and I figger a fine hair and a dot will fit the bill.

The obvious choices are the Leopold fixed 6x and 12x scopes. They both have what you're looking for. Here's the 12x:

I didn't see the 6x42mm listed with the dot, but I own one, so I know they make it.

The 6x42 is my favorite fixed power but I think the 12 will let me shoot a little tighter; @ 100 yards I don't think I should need more power, not for Hunter class anyway
