I've got a hunt booked in sept for aoudad with mr mike McKinney. I'm pretty pumped up but have never hunted in that area. Looking for someone who has been out that way. I'm trying to build my gear list. So certain camo patterns or items that I will need. Even certain brand of pack. I know I'll need a good set of binos, range finder and spotting scope but most of my gear set up is for whitetail. So any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your outfitter that you booked your hunt with should be able to help you out with a lot of those questions. Especially since you booked with him and he should know the area best and what is needed. Mike is a great guy. Have you contacted him and asked him what you need to bring?

Yes sir he is going to send me all the information for the hunt I just figured some differnt opinions from other hunters would be good. I've have read nothing but good stuff about mike and his hunts. So I'm sure he will take care of things. I was just swinging by cabelas this afternoon and looking for guys opinions in things they either we're glad they had with them on their hunts or wished they would have brought is all.

Very good boots with a hard sole!! If Mike says bring it you need to bring it, I have hunted with Mike for several years and always followwed his advice.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Terlingua is a beautiful place but very rugged. Plan on doing lots of walking up and down the hills. Mike will take great care of you.
