Was surprised, about25 Canadians flew over my backyard to a nearby community lake. Guess they were lost or scouts.

How could you tell they were Canadian? Wasn't aware Canadians could fly.

Who cares if he calls them Canadians. As long as he's found a way to extend the love of the sport to the summer is all that matters, hell I've even heard Phil Robertsen call them Canadians.

I don't really care. I just thought it was funny. I've probably called them Canadians and if someone corrected me or made a joke about it I wouldn't get my panties in a wad. I would just laugh.

Rough crowd. I see pairs that stay the summer but not seen that many come by in July before. I guess I should send Phil an email instead of posting about it here.

Don't let these jerks get you down Ben. Most of them don't even hunt.

Thanks Hayraker. They are just having fun and do not bother me. They probably call bluegill perch and Stripers Strippers anyway.

Most of these pros haven't hunted more than a couple of seasons anyway Ben. I'm sure if you were bored and searched their early post they were calling them Canadians also

Could be a local flock from lake or golf course decided to venture out. See that sometimes around here. Had about 20 fly over last week.
Call them what you want, had a goose guide 20 or so years ago calling them Canadians. He might not have known what to call them but he knew how to call them. Got a lot of birds hunting with him.

Ive began to notice more "locals" around as well. Would be kinda neat I guess if they were to ever develop into a realistic huntable number like they have in other states. Give us something else to do in September.

Yep, more and more around. The last couple of years I purposely hunted teal in a spot where I see some every now and then since the teal were hit and miss. Paid off a couple of times, made some good jerky.

There's a good flock of Canadians in the bar ditch at Lake Bridgeport. They appear to be near domesticated permanent residents.

There's about 30 of them living on the big tank in front of TMS. I see them almost everyday.

Well Hollywoods and Spoonies are not from California and they don't use spoons. Baldpate's are not really bald. Blackjack's don't play cards. Sky Carp are not flying fish. Cans are not what your beer is in. Sawbills don't saw wood. Mallets don't have rubber heads. A susie is not not the hot chick at the bar. Butterballs don't come from Land O Lakes. Sprigs don't have leaves on them. Greys did not fight for the South. A Ribeye from the Sky is not a cut of Cow falling to the ground. And Woodrows are of no relation to Wilson. But to give the man credit, some Canada Geese really are resident Canadians that fly down from Canada for the winter. HA!

A long time duck hunting partner and I once took a coworker duck hunting. He was as green as they come. Before the hunt, my friend and I came up with entirely new nicknames for the species of ducks we knew we would encounter as well as various new duck hunting traditions and phrases. I don't remember all of it, but as an example of each, things like calling wood ducks "corgies". And we made up a phrase for a string of misses to be "plantin spenders". And if one were to yell "hit me iceman" everyone else was to fire a shot in the air for no particular reason. Knowing our coworker was planning to go hunting with others in coming days we let him go home believing in all the tradition we taught him. His first hunt without us, he took out another first time hunter that was as green as him. I can only imagine the conversation in the duck blind that day and wonder just how far the new words and traditions we taught him went. I keep waiting to hear someone say "looks like your just plantin spenders there Jim" on on some TV duck hunting episode.
