I am not a knife maker however I must admit I like knifes. Last year I contacted Jason about making a knife similar an existing knife I had, which was made out of questionable steel. I am not a metallurgist and Jason was very patient with me. Long story short I received the knife about a week ago it is made of D2 steel with mesquite a handle, red liner and file work. He also put my logo on the sheath. I cannot say thank you loud or long enough to Jason. I noticed that after building the knife for me though he quit taking custom orders, sorry Jason.

Jason is a heck of a knife maker and a good guy to deal with.

Burns,
Great doing business with you. Glad you like the way the knife turned out. It wasn't your fault I quit taking orders, you were just on the list when the list stopped growing smile

Lol, at my current rate, that's nearly two years worth of production smile

Here are a few cell phone shots of the same knife, next to the original that was used as a pattern.

I have one of Jason's knives that is a very similar profile that is also D2.
It took a while on my Lansky to get the angle and get it sharp but well worth the time spent. I it's so sharp,if you cut yourself, you won't start bleeding until tomorrow and won't stop until next week.

I know it wasn't "my fault" but it still makes a good story Jason. I am really looking forward to getting some blood on it. Do have one question of you and other knife makers here. I have been using the spyderco triangular sharpener for years but am thing of getting a Ken Onion work sharp. Do you think they are worth the money or just the latest hyped up gimmick.
