Several guys including FiremanJG have switched to the 6.5 C in their boltaction long range rigs stating better ES and SD for their loads than when shooting the 260. The case dimensions are a bit more friendly for the AR10 and long nosed bullets with the 6.5 C than the 260. Will let the Fireman give more details.

Not saying the 260 isn't a good round because it is a very good one that Remington should have promoted much more than they did. It is around today because it was too good to die a slow death at the hands of the company that brought it to life.

My bolt action results are both with 24" barrels

260 Rem: 140 gr. A-max, 2800 fps MV, using 43.4 gr H-4350, ES of 18 fps +/-

6.5 Creedmoor: 140 gr. A-max, 2800 fps MV, using 42.4 gr H-4350, ES of 13 fps +/-

The 260 Rem had a smaller sweet spot than the 6.5 Creedmoor. Load development was a tad easier with the Creedmoor. Shoulder angle on the Creedmoor makes for less case growth upon firing, and the shorter case length means you can keep chasing lands (if you wish) and still fit in the mag farther down the life of the barrel.

Hornady.

Availability is hit and miss, but it can be found. The price is as good as it gets for rifle brass.
