It's my first dove season, and it's also my pups. Anyone have a suggestion for a place to go on opening weekend? I life in DFW but do not mind driving almost anywhere for a daily lease, etc. I'd like to make sure he actually gets work in on birds instead of aimlessly wandering.

Somewhere you can get off by yourself and not have it sound like WW3 around him.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Go someplace where you can let someone else do the shooting who doesn't mind a not-so-perfect young dog hunting with them, and like the others said maybe get away from all the gunfire. Last year I took my pup on his first hunt when he was around 10 months old. For the morning hunting my dad and I split off from the main group we were hunting with so I could focus on the dog. He did great and was ready to hunt with the rest of the group in the afternoon. pic from the first season

We will offer dove hunting on a half day basis and we will have some doves. You will be the only hunter in the field and we have ponds. I also have pigeons for training.
