I envy you guys, I've been once and had a ball

I admire you guys that make an annual pilgrimage up there. I've been trying to get a group together for a few years.

I've been offered a free hunt in Isabel SD. Hoping I get to take them up on the offer.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Just got back from running dogs in the White Lake area. Most birds I've seen in 4 years. They received rain when they needed it and the crops and hay fields are in great shape. Should be a good hunting season.

cz, I hope the chamberlain to Presho north to pierre area fared as good as the white lake area, I haven't heard any reports on the Pheasants but the grouse showed an increase in that area. I hope they had the timely rains like white lake, because they were very dry earlier.

jjf the farmers told us it was very dry until just after planting then the rains came in. Pheasants everywhere and we even found 2 covies of Huns. Farmer was shocked about the Huns. Said he hadn't seen any in 6 years.

That sounds like it may be better than last year which was a banner year for us compared to the 2 yrs.before that. We will be going up in Sept. for grouse and will scout it out. thanks for the report.
