I'll simplify this from the origional post....

Would you think $1k for a duck and goose lease that included one small tank and private access to a couple hundred yards of public hunting lake shoreline was fair for the hunters?

Lake In the past had been very low but us now full. I know there were lots of geese on it last year and not sure about ducks.

It has little pressure on it last year but with it full I don't know what to expect. It's in the middle of nowhere.

Not sure what you are asking here.

If you are asking if you should lease the place for $1k at 2 guys, I'd say yes. That's $500 each and that's nothing. If $500 can get you a place to hunt, even if it doesn't turn out to be good hunting, you don't have a lot of money in it. Just never really know with these birds, one year it may be great, the next it may be bad. But for $500 to lock down a place, I'd do it.

Yes, $500 a piece. It's on a public lake though that could be hunted for free but you would have the other tank and wouldn't need a boat.

You'd be paying $500 for a small tank and private access to a couple hundred yards of public hunting lake shoreline.

For me personally it's a great deal. I just set the deal up for the two guys and now I have a place to hunt during the split. I just want to make sure the guys leasing it are getting a good deal.

Taint no middle a nowhere to duck hunters (bet I know where you're talking about).

Personally I wouldn't pay to have easier access to something that is public. If I understand correctly, the guys could show up to their lease planning to hunt the shoreline and find other hunters set up and within their rights to hunt there. It seems by your description that the other pond is very small and not worth much.

I think I'd go for it, one more place to go get hammered and shoot birds...

I would not pay for access to a public spot. You can bet that if its any count, someone with a boat will be there( Especially that little lake that is surrounded by private land, right across the HPMMU line). I'd save the money and put towards a boat.
