I am looking to get my FN Herstal FNAR Rifle finished with a Cerakote or Duracoat in Desert / Sand Camo. It would include Rifle w/ 20" Barrel, Scope, Scope Rings, bipod and 1 mag. I am in Tarrant county so therefore need someone in the DFW Metroplex area. I do not want to ship. I want to talk to someone FTF to explain how I want the rifle done. You can PM me your information so I can get an estimate.

Why? I assume Cerakote is better than Duracote?

Lots of guys who Cerakote in that post...I posted a link to a guy in Plano who does good work. Seems there are quite a few.

I agree with BIL...based upon the stuff I've read Cerakote is more durable.

Talk to Andrew at Atwell Tactical in Richardson. He's done tons of cerakote work.

I have a rifle that was duracoated...I think I bought it about seven years ago. It's not a bad finish, but what I've read about cerakote just sounds like a better deal. Duracote WILL flake off some. I've also used a finish called Moly-Resin on a couple of items and I am convinced it is tougher than duracote...easy to use also.

The finish was a little cleaner on the Cerakote and appeared thinner. But that is really being picky.

I would do moly resin again if I had to, but with the color choices of Cerakote and the selection of applicators it is the way to go.

I didn't have the moly gun very long but a friend bought it and it's still holding up.
