I have a whisker biscuit on my bow and i dont really like it. I am buying a new bow from a friend (fred bear truth 2. His fall away rest is broke. I have never used one or looked into one. I am wanting to buy one and was wanting some insight. Any information on pros and cons of different ones would be appreciated. If anyone has one for sale i would be interested. I am in central texas. Thank u in advance.

Fall away rests give you cleaner arrow flight, and can increase speed a little by having minimal contact with your arrow. Some are limb driven, they work off one of the limbs on your bow. Limb driven rest are IMO a little easier to make adjustments to when needed. Often time they are tied to the top or bottom limb using a half hitch(some come with screw on clamps but I don't use the clamps) and then the cord is run through the rest itself and fastened with a set screw. For this reason you can easily undo the set screw adjust rest however you need run cord through the rest and retighten the screw and go on. Cable driven rests are attached to the down buss cable, different people attach them differently, some run the cord through the cable and serve the top side, some tie a half hitch onto the cable and serve the top side, some use the fasteners that come with the(I'm not a fan). They are a little more difficult to adjust should you have to at some later point in time because they are usually tied into the down cable. I have used both and use a QAD HDX now, tied to my down buss cable. Sorry for the long winded post.

I prefer the QAD for hunting. I think the arrow is more secure, and if you let down the rest does not go down. I have a trophy taker drop away on my 3d bow. great rest as well.

QAD and Ripcord are my favorites of the drop away rests. Prefer the ones that work from the down cable (not the ones to the limb) and they are a lot cleaner looking inserted into the cable and served above so they do not slip

QAD is the best arrow rest. I'm sure many others will agree

I've had good luck with NAP Apache rest! Can get them on ebay for decent price new! But do like arrow flight with drop aways. There is a lot of brands out there to choose from and work with.

I've had the QAD on my bow for 4-5 yrs and I've never had to touch it. Hard to argue with that.

I upgraded from a biscuit to a QAD and saw an immediate noticeable improvement in my groups. It has less contact and helps with those little motions that affect accuracy. I got mine used on ebay and my local shop actually helped me set it up. Gotta love the service at the small shops.
