I'm looking to mount a vortex viper pst scope on my .308 AR, any recommendations on rings or even a 1 piece mount, the scope is 4x16x50. Thanks

Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I like to do a one piece picatinny rail and Burris XTR rings. Good rings for a great price. I do lap them before mounting the scope. For a one piece, the Burris PEPR is good. Lots of good rings available.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Use the Burris PEPR rings. They are designed so that the center line of the rings is the same height as iron sights would be. Just installed one of these mounts along with the Vortex Hog Hunter on my dads AR10. Even with the 56mm reticle on his scope he had plenty of clearance between the rail.

I use Precision Reflex because they are a customer, but I also think they are very good. Both rail and rings. They make rails up to 30 MOA for those that want to really stretch out.

I just mounted a 2.5-10x32 PST in EGW high rings and it's the perfect height, plus it left me room to attach the brass-catcher base underneath.

I've got the LaRue 20 MOA on my 260 AR10 and really like it. I've also got several of the PEPR mounts and like them as well. That said, I really like the design of the Aadmount and just bought a pair of rings for a 308 AR10. I lap them all and you would be surprised how uneven the machining is, even on the top end rings.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

If you're not looking for quick detach, I second the JP rifles mount. Might not be as advanced as a spuhr or aad but it's rock solid.
