What part of texas? I think the panhandle area is the best combo hunting in texas.
I would say that is correct. The only problem you have up there is the lack of lodging. Or at least in the Lubbock area. The only outfitter I know that has a lodge is Crooked Wing Outfitters and it isn't nice by any means. Just a little old farm house with beds and couches and kitchen in it but it beats staying in a hotel.
To the OP if you want to travel a little farther than Lubbock check out Tule Creek Outfitters out of Tulia. Dane has a very nice lodge (in my opinion) and if there any birds at all in the area he will put you on 'em!
Also Ranger Creek would be another good option!
