Got a spider that guards my water hose. We had a run in the other day when I stood up and got his web caught on my head. He was none too happy and I was doing a little dance, but he decided to rebuild in the same spot. I feed him a few times a week with crickets and other small bugs.

Not an insect.

That's what we call a Banana Spider. He is your friend.

Yes he is your friend, except when him and his web hit you square in the face while riding ATV at night down a trail!

We've always called them garden spiders. As much as I hate spiders, those were always fun to feed when I was a kid growing up.

I like snakes. Not spiders.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

I am amazed at how quickly they wrap up a grass hopper or bug you place on the web.

Have heard them called Banana spiders and Black and Gold Garden spiders. Pretty harmless except the the occasional
heart attack the cause to some.

I hunted southern Zimbabwe in March one year. Spiders called "Golden Orbs" were everywhere. The trackers on the high seat in the back were none too happy.

I always called them zipper or corn spiders. Cool to feed and cool to spray with raid.

I'll never forget when I was in residential construction I picked up a grasshopper and thru him to my friend on the buyers new fence. They weren't from America and they didn't know what to think. They are probably still running as we speak. Pretty sure I got a bad survey

Garden Spider

I looked them up once. Reportedly one large adult eats 10,000 insects a year. I have no less that a hundred of them hanging on the new shop everywhere you turn. When they're in my way I break the web and let them move on. Good spider to have around, even of they look menacing.
