I think MSRP is suppose to be around $1300-$1350. I doubt that I personally would give that for a rifle that I was going to hunt with.

Going to pickup some 162 gr amax and work up a load with them. I feel some good reloads will bring it a little closer.

Don't count out Partitions. They may not be your choice for a 600-yard shot, but they can deliver some darned good accuracy and first-rate terminal performance. My .280 loves 150-grain Partitions.

Yesterday I won a winchester model 70 super grade in 280 Remington. What would you do? At the very least.....retirement supplement. Otherwise, shoot it.

Worked up ten 3 shot loads using IMR4831, starting at 51gr up to 53.8gr. These are the two best groups. This is 58 total rounds thru rifle at this time.

I would take off the pretty wood stock and place it in the box for later. Buy a Bell and Carlson stock to use while shooting/hunting. You can always put the other on later and it will be in perfect shape.
