I shoot skunks and coons with mine all the time. Killed a couple of 25 pound piglets this winter with it as well. Trigger sucks. Fairly accurate and fun to shoot.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Quote:
Yeah, taking trigger groups apart on just about anything is a PITA.

Often you can get by, taking the whole assembly and swishing it around in Varsol, or diesel fuel. - Then let it dry and apply a judicious amount of lubrication here and there.

Kind regards, charlesb

I like using brake part or carburetor cleaner on trigger groups.

X-2 on the brake cleaner.

I've never had the mag interfere, but I've never shot it off a sandbag. I used a rolled up jacket on my picnic table outside the cabin to sight it in, and that's the last time it shot at paper.

Thanks for all the input and comments. Sounds like an oldie but goodie might be the best way to fly...which means NO Stainless Steel. Might need to look harder at the mag fed 795's too. I think it was Bud's that had mags at good prices in 7rnd, 10rnd & 25 rnd capacities.

Not surprised at the bargain basement stock treatment on the RemLin's, and had already planned to do a back to bare wood Tru Oil job on the stock, so's I can stain it as dark as I want and properly seal the wood inside the receiver cut, barrel channel & under the butt plate with Tru Oil...and mebbe figger out a stipple pattern on the grip and forearm...even some of the old Glenfiled 60's had a little cut checkering and a cute looking squirrel head carving on the grip

The new'uns red front sight would not last long with me anyway, looking at it thru a scope anyway would drive me nutz. Gonna start looking for a less expensive AO scope too, ummm like a Swift 4x12x40 AO Premier Grade.
Appreciate Ya'll
Ron
