Hi,

I have booked a hog hunt for tomorrow mid day to noon the next day.
All my previous hunts has been evenings/early mornings.

Might sound like a stupid question, but what do you do during the night? Sleep on the ground in the feeder? Drive to a motel? Sleep in the car?
Pay extra for a cabin on the property?

...night is when you hunt hogs. Doen't your outfitter provide night vision and/or thermal? If not, 1] you were ripped off if you paid more than $100 bucks/day for a daytime only hog hunt 2] Rent NV equip to take with you.

If you cannot find a place to rent NV on sort notice (this weekend may be rough to find rental equip), go to academy and buy either a gun mounted light with a red lens or, if there is someone hunting with you, get a battery powered hand held spotlight. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/cyclops-...071?N=123946736

Thermal cell from what i hear ta keep skeeters away... Of get tired sleep in car or truck... Best wishes... flag

Yes they have lights on all the feeders so I don't think that is a problem.

Just curious how people normally do. Seems like most people might hunt to late at night like 3am or so and call it a day.
But then they miss the morning slot I guess.

Leaning towards getting some sleep in the car between 2-5 or so.

Hope they have game cam data to predict when hogs show up. Be there then. Comfy chair in blind for snooze. Phone to occupy time. My feeders have motion activated lights to alert me.

Pigs are coming in early at my place right now...just before dark. I sow a little sow with still enough light to fetch her with the tractor.

As the previous poster said, use the game cams to get an idea.

All of that said...I give up by 2:00 most nights, unless it is a group of us driving and stalking

Peak activity (per my game cams) on our place is right before dark (but not for long) then again about midnight.

Not seeing anything (hogs) from noon until about 7:00 p.m. BUT these cameras are on bait sites.

Hogs will move some during the day in hot weather, but 'travel' and 'feeding' will shift to the cooler hours of the night.

In almost every case...the hogs I am seeing (right at dark) are of hogs that have first been to our pond to water and wet themselves down. Then they come to the feeder(s).

Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

I was hunting yesterday, didn't see a single hog until 2 am. Then some babies with a sow and later a lonely boar walked by the feeder.
I was about to give up and catch some sleep in the car.

Didn't get a good shot on the sow but the boar is in my cooler.

Yesterday was a very warm night, maybe that is why they started so late?

No advise on when hogs are coming out this week. Idiots have been setting fireworks off. If I were you I would stay up all night.

Man its so hot right now that the hogs I hunt wont even hardly walk away from their cool down holes, and its thick off in there. Lights guns action cameras all in that order. up

Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.
