Deer leases and affordable can't be used in the same sentence.

Put a 1 in front of the 750 and you might find something that would at least put meat in the freezer each season.

No kidding. Who in the hell wants deer hunters all over their place for $750/year. That won't even buy 1/5 acre of land. If you could find a decent lease for $1750 you'd really be doing something.
Think about it. Somebody has 100s of acres. They don't need $750. It's just not even close to reasonable.

I lost my lease 2 years ago, had 600 acres for $800 per gun. I have since given up looking for another unicorn like the one I had, and now sign up for TPWD draw hunts for my kids. I don't really care if it is me or my kids who get to take the deer so long as I get to take my boys hunting and get some deer in my freezer. Last year we went on one hunt on Matagorda Island and had a good time, hope to do it again this year. Also the Texas Youth Hunting Program has some good hunts for cheap.
