Im real new to this and hope one of yall can help me out, The towing capacity my UTV is 1100 lbs, but when pulling a trailer i am not pulling the full weight of a trailer, my trailer is a 6 1/2 X 12 and it says it weights 1200 lbs but i can pick it up from the hitch and drag it around my yard no problem, so i know when i am dragging it around with my bear hands i am not pulling the full 1200 lbs of the trailer that the weight of it is displaced here and there and what not but my main questions is how do i figure out how much weight i can tow when using a trailer? or how much weight i can add to a trailer and still be fine to tow it?

Appreciate it guys

The 1100 lbs rating means it is rated to tow something that weighs that much not has 1100 lbs of tongue weight.

Im sure it will tow whatever you want to on that trailer. We have towed a heck of a lot more than 1100 lbs with several utv/atv's with no issues. I think your thinking about the weight wrong.

You should be just fine and run it in low at all times towing.

The tow rating is grossly understated to err on the side of caution and longevity. But yes, the tow rating is the total amount of pounds the manufacturer recommends pulling, including the trailer. Whatever you haul, just make sure it's pretty well centered over the axle so that the trailer bears most of the weight. That way all the UTV is really doing is propelling the weight versus carrying it.

My RZR S is rated at 1500 pounds, and I've had a shockingly heavier load behind it a time or two because I had no other choice. Low gear, manage your speed, and you should be fine.

The reason for the 1100 lb towing capacity is because of the CVT transmission, too much weight and you burn up the belt and end up stuck in the field.
