A friend tells me it's some sort of ibex? south texas hunts

An ibex? your mate needs his eyes checked I reckon!

Certainly a Roan, they're a cool $9k trophy fee in Africa, hate to think what they'd be in the states. Cousins to the more well known and more impressive Sable.

That is a solid roan. They are an expensive animal to hunt as well
