Wife is wanting a side-by-side now. She's narrowed it down to the 3 listed above. Has to be a 4 seat model, power steering and that's about it. We want the sport model since its main use will be trail riding and putting around the lease, not concerned with the limited bed space.

What says the experience of the THF?

A relative has two RZRs. They had one for maybe two years before buying a second one.

rzr's are cool, good machines but stay out of the mud with them unless you want a facial. had one out here running on 15" truck tires, great machine but any mud covered the driver and passenger, 2 seater 1000 and they were head to toe while the 4 of us in the ranger were clean and dry.

I would go with the ranger 1000 and be happy, windshield and later if she wants em get the full door and enclosure kit.

rzrs look cool and are a great machine but I would not own one after seeing how the mud flies.

Not concerned about the mud, comes with the terrain. Looking for somebody to chime in with reliability on either of these machines

I own a Commander Max (Can-Am) 4 seater.
They are great machines. I abuse the crap out of mine.
I hunt out of it, feed out of it, and trail ride. It has never let me down.
It is a great mix between sport and utility. Seats are decent, controls are good and it rides really good.

be careful with which ever you choose, my nephew had a stick come through the floor board (3.5" stick) and went through his inner thigh and came out his back. Which ever one you end up with, please by the heavy duty floor board protection plates, and the plates for the front axles. These would have prevented this accident.

Thats scary, I've had sticks come through some of my ATV's but never really injured me. I'll keep that in mind when buying accessories. Is your cousin ok?

Hetman... I wish we could buy a 2 seater, but with the wife, my dad and myself using it I just couldn't convince the wife that she would be safe riding in the bed confused2

I've got a 2 seater RZR S and it's been almost completely trouble free. I had to relocate a circuit breaker for the cooling fan because some engineer at Polaris thought it'd go well placed in a spot that holds water. Other than that 30 minute job, I haven't had to do a single thing to it in 500+ hours. I've towed far beyond it's ratings, loaded payload far beyond it's ratings, and ran it as hard as it would let me. Not a lick of trouble.

Hey BigPig Louis power sports in Greenville is showing:

2015 Can-Am Maverick™ Max 1000R(4 seat) for $15,799 this is the same place I bought my Can-am commander 800r 2 seat for $9,999.

They will tack approx. $500 for shipping & assembly to the price plus sales tax

For the best price and value we are your dealer

Lead the way with a 101 horsepower engine, rider-focused cockpit design and impressive all-terrain handling designed for a comfortable and confident ride. Its longer wheelbase provides more passenger room than any comparable four-person side-by-side vehicle. Individual grab bars and handholds add to its unmatched passenger comfort.

Commander 800 r is a 80hp v-twin Rotax and it is way more HP than I can safely use on the Lease,I generally run around in low gear Eco Mode - Hit the Sport mode switch and the HP doubles- Yee Haw hold on to you @ss cause you will be flying. will do approx. 70mph on dirt & up to 80mph on gravel or a smooth road ( have not maxed mine out yet just got it all broke in & first service done( remove all the break in oils from engine & diff & transmission) Great gas mileage 20+ mpg & a big gas tank 10gal

Remember to factor in the cost of a trailer for your new ride . took me a while to find a enclosed trailer with a high enough roof & door to fit my commander 72inch height at top of roll bar. found one at I35 Trailer sales in Lewisville TX

Insurance thru Allstate was another $500 per year but covers everything & anyone driving my commander

Just a FYI - They make a 1000 Turbo version if 101hp is not enough!!!!!!!!!

Appreciate it Hetman- we actually went to Louis in Greenville today and purchased a new 2014 Kawasaki Tyrex4. We talked with the salesman about the three listed above, and he told us what we were already thinking. That for the trails we ride on and the use we want it for, the Kawasaki was the best option due to the shorter wheelbase. It's not the most powerful on the market, but it will do 55-60 on gravel road with 4 grown adults and a cooler, and that's plenty fast for me. Louis was great to deal with, called there yesterday and confirmed they had it, went up today and within an hour papers were signed and we left to get the trailer. Returned and she was fully gassed and cleaned. The wife wanted green, we got married in Gruene on St Partricks day so I couldn't deny her this. She named it Clover bang And to be honest, she was the one that said we are going to buy this, I was happy with my 2 ATV's but she likes to ride more than drive so she wanted comfort.

I've had the Kawasaki teryx 800 when it first came out. Hated it cause the belt would get wet in less than 10" of water. They had a recall on them that fixed it from what I'm told but I couldn't get along with it. The leg room for the driver is lacking a lot! I traded that in and bought a rzr 800s and it was fun. We did a lot of mudding and hill climbing with it but there again there just wasn't that much room but I felt very safe and comfortable in it doing stuff I shouldn't have been doing. I know own a Polaris ranger 900 crew with a 6" super atv lift and 32" terminators and this is the machine I'll keep for a very long time. It's powerful more room and storage than I know what to do with good leg room all the way around great towing possibilities. I feel more comfortable doing off camber hill climbs and stuff in my rzr and but my ranger is just all around my favorite. The Can ams are very nice and comfortable I have 2 buddies that have the Mavericks and they love them. They have awesome power and a good ride. Honestly you need to let her choose which one she is comfortable in and feels safe. I would be afraid to roll my ranger.. they all have there weak points so don't let a hater on kawi or Polaris or can am detour you from one. I've worked on all mine and pulled can ams back they all break at some point. That's my .02 cents hope it helps

We bought a new 2014 Teryx4 a few weeks ago. The price was right, way better than RZR or Maverick. It's not as "sporty" as the others, but I really don't need that. If I was going for sporty I would have bought a 2 seater in Polaris or Can-Am. This will be just fine for my riding style, which is mainly beating around the lease and forest roads and trails in Colorado. I don't go seeking mud, or rock climbing, but leisurely riding and hunting is what this thing was bought for. Wish I would've known about Jobes Powersport in Durant before purchasing this ine

I liked the teryx other than the leg room I'm 6'4" and I just couldn't get comfortable. I heard they had the belt housing fixed soon after I traded mine off. I have 2 buddies that love their teryx 4.

We do a lot of riding at river run and hunt a bunch..

All my buddies have the razr.. I have the commander max 1000 XT. I put mine through more abuse than they ever have and mine has never been in shop unless it was time for regular scheduled maintenance.. We hunt on 23,000 acres in Tennessee colony tx on the prison bottoms. I have run over all kinds of trees about 3" diameter or less at 40-45mph chasing down hogs while the passengers are shooting them with AR15's.. I bought the ricochet aluminum skid llate for mine.. And honestly when we are chasing the pigs down I am also running them over as well...no joke

It does great in mud, hills, just about anything I put it through. Very comfortable ride.

My dad also has the maverick xmr 1000. And it take a lot of abuse

My grandpa has the same commander as me but in a 2 seater.

All of our can am products have been put through the test. Trust me ... They always take a lickin and keep on tickin

After seeing all my friends Polaris atvs and utvs in the shop. I would say go with can am
