Wife is wanting a side-by-side now. She's narrowed it down to the 3 listed above. Has to be a 4 seat model, power steering and that's about it. We want the sport model since its main use will be trail riding and putting around the lease, not concerned with the limited bed space.

What says the experience of the THF?

A relative has two RZRs. They had one for maybe two years before buying a second one.

rzr's are cool, good machines but stay out of the mud with them unless you want a facial. had one out here running on 15" truck tires, great machine but any mud covered the driver and passenger, 2 seater 1000 and they were head to toe while the 4 of us in the ranger were clean and dry.

I would go with the ranger 1000 and be happy, windshield and later if she wants em get the full door and enclosure kit.

rzrs look cool and are a great machine but I would not own one after seeing how the mud flies.

Not concerned about the mud, comes with the terrain. Looking for somebody to chime in with reliability on either of these machines

I own a Commander Max (Can-Am) 4 seater.
They are great machines. I abuse the crap out of mine.
I hunt out of it, feed out of it, and trail ride. It has never let me down.
It is a great mix between sport and utility. Seats are decent, controls are good and it rides really good.

be careful with which ever you choose, my nephew had a stick come through the floor board (3.5" stick) and went through his inner thigh and came out his back. Which ever one you end up with, please by the heavy duty floor board protection plates, and the plates for the front axles. These would have prevented this accident.

Thats scary, I've had sticks come through some of my ATV's but never really injured me. I'll keep that in mind when buying accessories. Is your cousin ok?

Hetman... I wish we could buy a 2 seater, but with the wife, my dad and myself using it I just couldn't convince the wife that she would be safe riding in the bed confused2

I've got a 2 seater RZR S and it's been almost completely trouble free. I had to relocate a circuit breaker for the cooling fan because some engineer at Polaris thought it'd go well placed in a spot that holds water. Other than that 30 minute job, I haven't had to do a single thing to it in 500+ hours. I've towed far beyond it's ratings, loaded payload far beyond it's ratings, and ran it as hard as it would let me. Not a lick of trouble.

Hey BigPig Louis power sports in Greenville is showing:

2015 Can-Am Maverick™ Max 1000R(4 seat) for $15,799 this is the same place I bought my Can-am commander 800r 2 seat for $9,999.

They will tack approx. $500 for shipping & assembly to the price plus sales tax

For the best price and value we are your dealer

Lead the way with a 101 horsepower engine, rider-focused cockpit design and impressive all-terrain handling designed for a comfortable and confident ride. Its longer wheelbase provides more passenger room than any comparable four-person side-by-side vehicle. Individual grab bars and handholds add to its unmatched passenger comfort.

Commander 800 r is a 80hp v-twin Rotax and it is way more HP than I can safely use on the Lease,I generally run around in low gear Eco Mode - Hit the Sport mode switch and the HP doubles- Yee Haw hold on to you @ss cause you will be flying. will do approx. 70mph on dirt & up to 80mph on gravel or a smooth road ( have not maxed mine out yet just got it all broke in & first service done( remove all the break in oils from engine & diff & transmission) Great gas mileage 20+ mpg & a big gas tank 10gal

Remember to factor in the cost of a trailer for your new ride . took me a while to find a enclosed trailer with a high enough roof & door to fit my commander 72inch height at top of roll bar. found one at I35 Trailer sales in Lewisville TX

Insurance thru Allstate was another $500 per year but covers everything & anyone driving my commander

Just a FYI - They make a 1000 Turbo version if 101hp is not enough!!!!!!!!!
