What scale are you using? And what is causing it to be so low?

It's hard to help when you don't know what product it is. But, keep your phone away from the unit. The signal and electronics will interfere with the scale. Also, keep it away from AC vents and florescent lights (EMI noise). Also, turn the scale on and leave it on about 30 minutes or more before you use it. If I turn on my scale and start to use it immediately, it will be off, and take about 10-15 minutes to settle down.

Also, if it's a battery powered unit, they will wander. Try to use the power cord in the wall.

Point Chad is making is there are some good electronic scales out there...there are some sucky ones too.

You couldn't buy my A&D FX201i from me for less than one would cost new. It's the best scale I'll ever own...unless I jump in on the Promethus.

Ya might wanna check and make sure the table or benchtop you're working on is level.

Also verify that your balance beam is correct. We worked with one last weekend and it weighed at least 2 grains light comparing to different digital scales.

Or the digital scales were showing high. Just agitating as I'm sure you used calibration weights to prove the electronic scales.

I have one electronic scale and only use it to check cast bullets. ALL CF loading is done w balance beam including setting Lyman, Dillon and RCBS dispensers. No battery issues or electronic interference.

I look at Digital scales. as trendy toys and some are just expensive toys. Even going back to dial calipers instead of digital.

I use a Lyman unit that throws and trickles, and I have a PACT that I use to spot check the Lyman. And I have check weights. My RCBS 1010 scale has been boxed and unused for at least 3 years. The Lyman works terrific with ball powders, but is a bit more finicky with stick powders like Varget or 4831, in that it tends to throw high by a little bit. So I set it to throw a little bit low, and trickle if needed. All is good. Not planning to ever go back to the beam scale, but I keep it for last case backup. That's for all rifle powder loading.

I do use a Lyman 55 to throw pistol powders and then weigh every couple of throws on the digital scale.

Yep, I do go through the "calibration routine".
I guess if the scales you are using are consistent then it really doesn't matter if they possibly" high or low" per other scales as long as they are consistent. That is as long as you are loading within safety standards.

I have the RCBS powder measurer/scale combo... for the life of me cant remember what they call it right now.

It says to plug in at least a 1/2 hour before you use it and every time you use it your supposed to calibrate it with the supplied check weights. I do, it measured up against my 505 beam scale just fine, and I have never noticed an issue with it. Are you warming it up and calibrating it when you use it?

RC....Chargemaster...great scale and mine's accurate to their advertised accuracy of +/- .1 grain (which is a .3 window)

A static charge on your loading bench will mess up your scale. Take everything off your table, set up your scale, then put things back on your bench one at a time. Observe your scale. If it deflects or reads off, you have found an item that is charged. Remove it and continue with checking items.

They may be trendy but they sure work and make loading easier and much faster especially if you are loading a few rounds at different weights for load testing.... But then again some people would think cell phones are trendy toys and want a rotary dial party line phone cool

I have two Chargemaster's now and they are not the perfect answer but better than most.

My 1010 balance beam is the scale I use. I have it paired with an electric trickler on a foot switch so I like the setup. I do have cal weights to keep it honest. I have a fine Pact digital in the closet that I can use to compare. Each time I have crossed check them, they agree.

I've been using a cheap electronic jewelry scale I bought on ebay years ago. It has a battery and has been dead nuts on every time, very dependable; it weighs to 1/100 of a grain.
