No need to find a post.
Call Skylar tomorrow and buy a Timney from them.

I bought the Calvin elite for $166 and dropped it in. I like it; but it is a very light pull.

Don't get me wrong, Timney's are great but IMHO so are Jewell, Basix, Shilen, and others. Functionally they are all very close but each has different nuances like the size of the trigger (width) and the surface of the trigger, etc. The differences can be bigger than you think and I'd check them out if you can.

The one Timney I have has a wide blade and I really like that. You can easily feel if your finger is square to the trigger. Very important to squeezing the trigger straight to the rear.

I have a couple of Timneys and they were a big upgrade in terms of feel from the factory triggers. And the factory triggers were pretty good. Maybe a fellow could get a better trigger for hunting and paper punching, but at what cost?

The Timney and Shilen are great for hunting rifles. If you are looking for under 2lb trigger pull, Jewel seems to be the popular choice. I have 3 Timney 510 triggers that replaced the X-Mark Pro triggers. The Timney is a noticeable upgrade. If you have the pre X-Mark trigger, just have your trigger adjusted. Those were excellent factory triggers.

I have both Timney and Jewell...the Timney seems to be more sealed to keep dirt and crap out of them. I've read folks having troubles with Jewell in harsh environments...I personally haven't had any troubles out of either one.
I have a regular Timney on my practical gun...if someone doesn't like the Calvin Elite I would trade because I don't like that I can't get it down lighter. This one is about a 1.5lb trigger and I've got it adjusted as low as I can without it going on when the bolt is slammed. I'd like to get around or just under a lb.

I shoot matches in tan talcum powder dust and have seen about seven Jewels go down. Course thats shooting in that dust, not carrying the rifle hoping for a shot in that dust.
