I've had several people ask for a report on the Brownell's barrel that I put on my Grendel. I took it out to 500 yards Saturday. I can't say anything that pictures can't say better.
Equipment used: Aero Precision upper, lower, handguard and 30mm scope mount
Brownell's 24" medium profile barrel & bolt
PSA LPK, Velocity brand 3 lbs trigger, Ares BCG
Luth-AR MBA1 stock
Primary Arms 4-14×42 mil/mil FFP scope
$20 .30 cal muzzle brake from Amazon
The ammo was factory Hornady 123 Amax. I also shot some 123 SST but they shot over MOA at 100 yards.
First 3-round group with Amax
My son's 5-round group with Amax (yeah, he kicked my butt).
My best 5-round group at 500, 12" target. The wind was gusting and so I had to adjust my hold for windage every shot. I'm still happy with the results.
We were able to hit the target with consistency as you can see from the pasties scattered over the target.
I'm actually glad that my custom barrel order got screwed up and forced me to buy the Brownell's barrel. It's all the performance at half the price. I highly recommend it to anyone building a Grendel.
