After looking at some of the better blinds out there and doing a little research, I am thinking about building a new 4x6 blind with OSB and then fiberglass and paint it. Has anyone done this as a DIY project yet? I have looked at lots of youtube videos and potential products to buy, but wondering if anyone can shorten my learning curve on this.

After running the numbers of building the blind with ripped 2x4's, OSB, interior plexi windows, exterior wooden windows (protects the plexi when not being used) and elevators to build 8' tower....it seems a nice blind can be built for around $350 minus the fiber. Wondering how much fiberglass/materials would cost to finish the out side? If I can do it for $150, that would made total blind cost about $500 and be a very nice blind that should last a lifetime of hunting.

What are any ones thoughts or ideas?

No DIY'ers out there? I have also thought about applying the DIY spray foam insulation on the inside before painting. Looks like this can be done for about $1.2 a square foot (1" of foam expanded with R-7 rating). Brings total cost of blind to about $700

Yes....

But if your going to use wood for your sandwhich structure you need to do both sides. If you want to save money use the thick pink foam(insulation and structure in one) from lowes... Do not use styrofoam.

Mat is cheap resign is not.
