Currently purchasing a Savage 110 BA .338 Lapua, I'm looking for a scope that will give me years of use and the ability to shoot any distance. prefer mil/mil.

The second rifle I have is my Remington 700 in .308 it has the 24" heavy barrel, x mark trigger and a H%S precision stock. I have been running a cheap explore optic which has preformed awesome. I'm just looking to step up my game.

I have a budget of $2000.00 for both scopes. I want them to be the same scope the powers can vary but all other functions should be the same.

I'm sure this topic has been beat to death but I'm looking for opinions of the experienced.

thanks in advance.

How do you feel about one terrific scope for both rifles? Mount a 20MOA pic rail on both, get a set of Badger Ordinance rings and bounce it between both rifles. Zero it on the .308 (you'll shoot it more) the first time you move it to the .338 make notes on how many tenths of a mil it was moved vertically and horizontally to zero it to the .338. Every time you move it, it will be within less than .5 Mil of where it should be, so shoot one round at 100 yards to be sure.

I've had this scope on loan from Bushnell to test and review for two months and it is one of the best optics I have ever looked through. The glass clarity is amazing and the reticle is actually very nice, it is not too busy. It will be getting extremely high marks as far as I'm concerned and I am probably going to have to buy it!

That's is an option. I'm not sure that I want to jockey a scope between 2 rifles.

Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12x 44mm FFP on the 308

Bushnell Elite Tactical ERS Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 6-24x on the 338

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1325117...rst-focal-matte

or the 3.5-21x50mm on the 338

You could do something similar with Viper PST at the same price point, but I think I would go Bushnell.

I installed a swfa hd 5x20x50 on my savage 338 and love it ... Shot over 250 rounds and never had a issue.. Dad bought a vortex razor gen 2 and swfa glass has it beat hands down!

Buy once Cry once!

Whatever you get go with ffp and mil mil

Take FiremanJG's suggestion. With the LaRue QD it guarantees Zero when you remove and reinstall. Takes a few seconds to do.

This would not be hard to manage on two rifles at all. Just mark the slot on you rails for you scope. up

A buddy of mine has that same rifle with a Leupold mark 6 on it . He took it to a two day sniper training that was taught by two ex members of an elite U.S. special forces team and he had a match with one of them on the last day and won. He had never shot long range before that two day class . You can't go wrong with Leupold .

Leupold mk6 are having tons of problems that's the last scope I would choose.

He might not notice them. The concerns are of incorrect traking although it's consistent it isn't right. The other is reticle cant which the tmr reticle has major problems with.

There is a thread over on the hide where a member has been testing tracking and reticles and the mk6 has been one of the worst.

I think his scopes do alright he shot every steel from 300-800 in 42 seconds . He was twisting turrets every round. They could only have one round in their rifle at a time.

I could care less about the instructors as the "special forces" title doesn't mean marksman. The 5 shots in 42 seconds of dialing is the unbelievable part.

Add top loading to that. "They could only have one round in their rifle at a time."

Too bad it's out of stock, I really don't think there is a better optics deal anywhere.
