We have a Hog hunt reserved, and hope to do at least one deer hunt with TX Youth Hunting Program. Considering how Financially Challenged I am, and being optimistic about getting meat I have been looking online for a PDF with simple instructions for butchering hogs and deer. I have not been able to find any downloadable PDF's on the subject. Does any one have or know where to get this information? Remember it needs to be simple (for the simple minded)

Thank You
Robert

agree, YouTube is one of the greatest sources of virtually all "how to" things these days.

I picked up a video at cabelas. I forget the name. But, it's very thourough. Almost two hours long. It shows the processing of a deer but most big game would be about the same. Starts with field dressing and takes you all the way through final processing and packaging.

If it is a boar, I would suggest removing glands in the hind quarters. There are several video on locating and removing them. That little sac can impart a very strong taste...especially in older/larger boars.

I go along with the others, You Tube is your best bet.

Thanks for the feed back,
I have looked at some you tube and found it very informative, I have a poor memory and thought I could print a PDF and take it out with me as a simple reminder. I will also see if I can find the video on Cabelas web site. I live in Dumas TX, which is centrally located (Just drive 500 miles in any direction you can find any thing you want) Thank goodness for the internet.

Thank You
Robert

There is an app you can get "deer dummy". Its $1.99, but has photos and such to show you how its done.

It works, and if you have an electric winch the golf ball trick makes the skinning job so quick you enjoy it.

agree, works very well ... but be very sure whatever you have it hung on & with is stronger than that attached to the golf ball. Trust me!
