What is the difference in a cull and management buck? I see it listed on some leases, you can kill a Trophy, 2 management and 2 cull bucks all are covered by MLD tags. Am I having a brain fart is a cull and management buck not the same?

No difference. Just two different ways of saying the same thing.

I believe a cull would be a long horn old spike or a deer with maybe half a rack.Just an undesirable deer in general.A management buck could be a really nice buck, say a 140 class 8 point for instance, but on a ranch where the owner/manager wants 10 points or better for trophy deer.Huge difference in my opinion. I'll take a management buck like that all day long on my lease.

a cull on our lease is 3 years or older, 7 points or less and showing no unusual potential (drop, big brows, etc.). Management is four years or older, 8 point also showing no potential. If there is a 4 year or older deer with more than 8 points but shows no potential (short tines, etc.) we count him as management and take him out. Our management bucks are under 150. We don't keep pictures of our culls but here are a few we took as management.
You can't fix stupid

For me a trophy would be a buck that is very mature and above average quality for the area. A management buck is a buck that is 4+ yrs old that is not going to be in average quality class. A cull is any buck that will never be close to an average deer at any age, more of the bottom of his age class.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

you try to manage them and they don't measure up so you cull them. By 2035 I think we will have a great white tail herd.
