Seems like it has failed. Saw one for $229. Worth a shot?

I've read issues with it not feeding correctly, but most reviews are positive.

For that kind of money I'd say it's worth a try. Heck I spend that much money on beer in two months.

I have had one for a few years now and have never had any problems with it. Like Fireman said, for that money it's worth a try.

Is the 783 the mauser action or the replacement for the 710?

No nevermind, that was the 798. I wouldn't buy a 783.

Somebody was running them for $229, but I think only in .270 and 30-06. That's a hard bargain to beat, particularly if it's a hunting rifle you're only putting a box/2 through per year.
