Well I'm about to get my gun setup this week and was wondering whats the best scope mount. I've got the sendero chambered in 300 win mag and a Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20X50 MM (30MM) M5 Front focal. I'm debating on the Leupold double dovetail or the the Burris tactical mount. I'm just wanting something really reliable and solid. What's y'all's input?

I'm just wanting something really reliable and solid. What's y'all's input? EGW one piece picatinny rail Badger Ordinance or Talley Tactical rings. The Talleys are aluminum to cut a few ounces. I run EGW bases on every rifle, and have both brands of rings. I pick up my rifles by the scope tube all the time. I also can take the scope and rings off one rifle and move it over to a different rifle with a 1/2" socket in about thirty seconds.

Whew those are some high dollar rings!!! Nothing like having a gun that's reliable though.. I had issues with my last leupold mount and my gun was off on several hunting trips.. Scary going on a trip wondering if your scope may have moved..

Yup. Same reason I have a $200 Pelican rifle case. What's $200 when it is protecting over $3k in rifle and scope? What's $160 for a set of rings you know will not yield loss of zero?

Seekins. The answer is almost always Seekins. Mounts and rings.

I am used these on my newest build and really liking them. It eliminated the trouble of your scope twisting while tightening the rings down. scope rings

A one piece picatinny rail is the way to go for greatest utility & strength, but not to pretty. If esthetic are important too, I like one piece bridge mounts & I've never had a problem with Leupold, Burris or Redfield rings & mounts. I'm surprised you had some issues with Leupold.
Good luck with your project; sounds like your doing it right for a long range hunting rig!!!

I use a one piece base and rings as well. Current setup is a EGW 20 moa base, and Seekins rings. Seems like the 2 piece stuff never lets me put the scope where I want to. And I want the strongest thing I can get. Why spend all that money on a rifle and scope, then cheap out on rings? Makes no sense.

Just about anything is better than the standard windage-adjustable rear mount system.
Leopold's Dual Dovetail is a good, strong system and I'd recommend it but if you want extra elevation for LR then go a different route.

I have had really good luck with the TPS rings as well. The Talley 20 MOA base is solid also.

Yeah I remounted my leupold last week amd it's been solid since then. I agree with the pica tinny rail but I'm gonna start spending more money on hunting trips and I'm wanting something super reliable..

EGW 20MOA here with SWFA tactical rings. $35 for a pair of rings that are furs teed not to stretch or lose zero. So far they have done there job.
