I ended up with this rifle, I am debating on selling or possibly donating to the Outdoor Dreams Foundation to be raffled off at the next fundraising banquet we have. I know that it is in almost perfect condition and has had exactly 8 rounds fired through it for sighting in the scope on it. It still has the plastic on the bolt handle.

I really don't know what the value is and I am looking for more information on it. I have only had a few Weatherby's over the years and none in this caliber or condition. Any ideas on value to help me decide what to do with it.....

Saw one similar this past weekend at the gun show, I believe they were asking $2100. I have one in 257 Wthby, had it valued at $4100 about 4 years ago. Mine has a lot of engraving and inlay though

I have a similar one and was in the same boat as you, wanting to know more info on it. There is a website for Weatherby Collectors...I sent the trial number/make/model/country of origin to one of the guys mentioned on the website, and he gave me a good idea of what it could be worth in its condition. Maybe send him an email with some pics and he can do the same for you...his name is Jim Clark. jclark@weatherbycollectors.com

Good luck!

Looks like it says Japan on the side of the receiver. I didn't think the ones manufactured in Japan brought a premium. I would be thinking $1500 or a little more for the bare gun.

$1500 I think is about right for bare gun. You will see plenty priced much higher than that but I doubt they are bringing much more than $1500 in the real world. Wasn't that long ago you could buy them brand new for $1100 on just about gun store shelf. For some reason new prices skyrocketed pretty much over night but the used market has been very slow to follow.

I read on the net somewhere, that they are not making the Mark V in 7mm WBY anymore. It has to be true since it is on the internet. I actually picked this gun up for a friend and going to raffle it off I think for a fundraiser for the ODF. Thanks for all the help guys.

They are still making the 7mm WBY in Mark V.
As far a value you can buy a new deluxe for around 2300.00. If your gun is a USA made gun it is worth between 1500 and 1800. If it is a Japen gun it is worth about 25% less.
