I FINALLY made it to my lease in east coleman this last weekend to do some much needed mowing. I had no idea just how bad it really got. My nephew and I mowed and weedeated for several hours and did not even make a dent in it.

Nice clean up job! I'm sure my place looks the same if not worse.

I hope we don't have a hot and dry summer, if we do the wildfires will be out of control.

At least you can see the porch now.

I checked out the lease last week and have never seen grass/weeds so high. About mid-thigh high out in the pasture and it is very difficult to see the ground. I have never worn snake boots but have bought a pair to use as I am more concerned about snakes than I ever have been.

Goat heads galore at our place...luckily not many matured and freshly watered with round-up

We have the same issue at our lease near Aspermont. Weeds are so tall you can't see down your shooting lanes.

i have never thought about using weed n feed. I probably sprayed 2 gallons of weed killer down. THen a 5 lb bag of bug killer followed by 4 boxes of moth balls. heck I even tried that snake away garbage they sell at lowes. Not sure if it works or not. Why not try it.

We hunt over in Runnels. If this is an indicator of what we have to look forward to, I'm not real excited.
I have to wear sunglasses into the woods, because the deer would recognize me, an just surrender with their hooves up.

We had a place in Coke County that we put out weed n feed one spring, watered it down really really well, and we had nothing but grass for the next 5 years.

I'm afraid the only way I'll know a deer is near is to see the tops of the weeds moving.....

This was my place in Haskell many years ago. Took me forever to clear it with my riding lawn mower.

Was hunting axis last week with clients just outside Kerrville in a field and all you could see was the tips of their antlers lol had to get up on a cliff to see anything.
