What do you think the TOP country in Texas is for the total number of free roaming exotic deer is . Also the top country for free roaming Axis deer. Where would chose to buy you own hunting track of land.[color:#3333FF]

Along the river/creeks in Kerr or Bandera or McCulloch or Kimble counties for numbers of Axis. Just about anywhere it is rugged and thick in the Hill Country you can get a mixed bag of Axis, Sika, Blackbuck, Aoudad, mixed Sheep and Fallow.

Kimble County between Telegraph and I-10 and East to Segovia has a really healthy population of Axis.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I'm guessing Sutton county for low fence totals and maybe Kimble or Kerr county for Axis.

Near where in Kendall country????? Anywhere. It's crawlin' with 'em. Occasionally see them in Boerne by the Post Office.

Agree about Edwards County -- we seem them everywhere, and the herds are large right now. From our place off Hwy 83:

Driving back to Boerne early one morning (around 4am) from Concan, when I got up to I-10 from 47 - there was a herd of 25-30 axis right in the road in front of the Whataburger. Seen axis plenty of times at late night in Boerne proper, and one of the biggest bucks I've ever seen down there was in the parking lot of the church on John's Road, right by the creek.

Here is a couple photos from inside the city limits of Fredricksberg this past April. The deer were across a private road so I couldn't get too close, hense the poor quality photos. Baker

Looks like Texas will have a great herd of Axis for a while, meaning they will survive even with hunting pressure,
