I have a 1/3 acre tank I'd like to start establishing as a duck haven. Eventually I will be expanding the tank and making it a bass fishing tank also, so I can't plant anything that's impossible to get rid of and will make fishing miserable.

What can I plant around the tank to make ducks start wanting to live/feed there?

you should plant corn all around the tank, and then flood it when the season is getting started

Jap Millet and Brown Top millet. If you can't control water level just hope it floods in November.

Jap millet likes moist soil while your Brown Top can do better in more dry soil.

works for dove also, but you need to start planting about the middle of August all the way through September for dove though

Japanese Millet is the way we roll in Colorado. Duck hunting seems to really pick up in the areas where it's planted. We try to plant it right before the water levels go up to where the seed will be covered. Pouring rain here now so don't think we'll have any dry areas to plant this year.
