Would be nice if the season would start the Saturday Morning of Labor Day weekend every year.

Absent from the goose regulations is the Conservation Season for snows. They,re trying to close it. I got a survey in March about it and told them that there,s no good reason to close the season. The winter count went up substantially last year. Even if you don,t hunt snows, TPWD starting to close seasons on plentiful game birds should bother waterfowlers. TX would be the only state to close the spring snow goose season. Please click on the link and cooment.

Does anyone have any idea why they are proposing to open the south zone for duck season a week before the north zone? Seems like it would be the other way around.
I'm with GK because I like salty old dudes.

Does anyone have any idea why they are proposing to open the south zone for duck season a week before the north zone? Seems like it would be the other way around. They said their goal is to have the seasons different for both zones to allow hunters the extra two weeks by hunting in both zones. For the North Zone they are giving us what we talk about every year, a later season.

Proposed Dove Seasons
The department proposes to adjust the season dates to allow for calendar shift with respect to opening day in all three dove zones, including the Special White-winged Dove Area (SWWDA) regular season; however, in the North and Central zones, the season will have five more days in the first segment and close on a weekend (compared to last year). The extra days would be removed from the end of the second segment. In the South Zone and SWWDA, the season is identical to last year except for calendar shift. The bag and possession are the maximum currently allowed under the federal frameworks and are not proposed for change. The number of zones and zone boundaries cannot be altered at this time.
North Zone: September 1 — October 25, 2015 and December 18, 2015 — January 1, 2016.
Central Zone: September 1 — October 25, 2015 and December 18, 2015 — January 1, 2016.
South Zone: September 18 — October 21, 2015 and December 18, 2015 — January 22, 2016.
Special White-Winged Dove Area: September 5, 6, 12, and 13, 2015; September 18 — October 21, 2015 and December 18, 2015 — January 18, 2016. Comment on Proposed Dove Seasons No opinion Agree completely Disagree completely Disagree specifically on… Proposed September Teal Season
The department proposes a 16-day statewide teal season to run from September 12-27, 2015, which must be approved by the Service before it can be implemented. If the Service does not approve a 16-day season, the department would instead adopt a 9-day season to run from September 19-27, 2015. The department cautions that the federal frameworks could alter the total number of days for teal hunting if population data warrant. The bag and possession are the maximum currently allowed under the federal frameworks and are not proposed for change. Comment on Proposed September Teal Season No opinion Agree completely Disagree completely Disagree specifically on… Proposed Early Canada Goose Season
The department proposes a 16-day early Canada goose season in the Eastern Goose Zone to run from September 12-27, 2015 (with the proviso that if a nine-day teal season is selected, the early Canada goose season would run concurrently). The zone boundaries cannot be altered at this time.
