365 geese and 265 over limit

I usually shoot 265 times to get 6 ducks......... can't imagine how many shells for that many geese

It was snow geese. Who cares. I thought they were so overpopulated that they were destroying their breeding grounds.

I've had a few epic snow geese hunts but normally you are doing awesome to get one or two limits worth let alone everyone's limit. Maybe the snows are just stupid there but they are some weary [censored] birds here.

If they had done that in most other states they would be heros. Instead they are paying $55k in fines. Not saying they should have broken the law, but that just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Guess the ones that migrate through PA aren't the ones that destroy the tundra....

You are probably right Garrett. I'm betting they came up on a huge roost and just opened up spraying a dozen per shot. Of course they probably spent 30 or 40 minutes with clean up shots on cripples.

Personally, I hope they throw the book at them. I've grown weary of the "it's only snows" and "save the tundra" and "sky carp", etc. If you can't cook a snow geese to taste 2x better than a flying liver, you should turn in your chef hat. I'm guessing if these guys shot a double limit of mallards you guys would be calling for their heads.

They could double the limit on mallards and not really change the population that much. Most of the guys in Texas still wouldn't shoot any.

Yep, I'm a strong believer in the supply and demand principle. If there wasn't an overpopulation of sky carp I'd take it more serious. It has nothing to do with how they taste.

Kinda like I don't give a dam how many hogs get shot on my deer lease or who shoots them... the more the merrier, but if a 1.5 year old 6 point goes down I'm not gonna be happy about it.

I wouldn't care if they shot a double limit of mallards either, mallards are the most populous bird in north america by far. Lets be serious, stacking up mallards is not exactly hard considering how dumb and easy they work.
