Finally finished my 6.5 Creedmoor. I put it together off the Savage .308 stainless action. Had some time to finish up load development for it. My first suppressor also just came in, the Silencerco Omega, and the recoil and sound reduction is amazing! Specs: CBI Light Varmint 1-8" barrel 20" long Manners MCS-EH1 stock in Gap camo Timney trigger Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 FFP Mil/Mil Scope DNZ Rings Silencerco Omega suppressor Shooting Hornady 140gr A-Max of 42.6 gr of H4350 loaded to the lands.

I'm a savage fan. I like the setup. CBI=criterion barrel? Who did you get the barrel and stock from?

Very cool and nice shooting!
Stupid question: what all is required to go from a 308 to a 6.5 CM?

A new barrel and a gunsmith to make it fit. Action, bolt, and mag will still work after the barrel swap.

I'm a savage fan. I like the setup. CBI=criterion barrel? Who did you get the barrel and stock from? Yes, Criterion. I got the barrel from Northland Shooting Supplies and the stock directly from Manners. They inlet and bed the rifle too. Very nice combination. That stock is stupid light weight! The stock rocks! Took a long time but the I am very happy with the end result. That looks really nice!!! Good job!!! Time to go stretch it's legs!
Thanks! I am taking it out to Fireman's class as soon as I get some open time on my schedule.

Did you use factory bottom metal/mag? Have you cronographed the load? Do you know what it weighs? Sorry for all the questions, my go to rifle is a factory savage 6.5 but I am considering building another.

Sorry for all the questions, my go to rifle is a factory savage 6.5 but I am considering building another. No problem. Chrono- no idea, don't own a chronograph Weight- I am not sure but I would bet it is under 8 lbs without the suppressor. I would have had the barrel fluted if I didn't cerakote it first. Cutting the barrel to 20" from 24" really made it lighter. Bottom Metal- factory stainless steel from the Savage 16 with blind magazine. The Manners stock is really awesome, that is where I save a lot of weight. It feels extremely strong but it is as light as a factory stock.
