Don, I enjoy reading your posts. Were you effected by the recent floods?

I had 2 fences wash wash over. 4 tank dams wash out. Water is still coming out of every crack in the ground. Having a rough time trying to get a road fixed that goes through mine to a couple of neighbors places. Put in a 8" pipe to let the water go and dumping caliche in the bottom but it is so wet it keeps sucking up the caliche. Good thing they don't live back there or they would not get home. We had close to 12" of rain in a little less than a week. Most I have ever seen in all the time I have been here. Now if I can just get the Goats healed up I will be in good shape.

Do you get much trouble with hoof rot?

I built a pen that sits off the ground with expanded metal floor covered in duratouch for ones that get bad... I trimmed hoofs the other day and it was like trimming sponges... I know you got a lot of rock but still with that kinda rain its hard to get away from

Where the females and kids are there are quite a few places where they don't have to stand in water all the time. The pens were in water but not the higher elevations. No sign of hoof problems yet. After drenching a few of the kids I could catch and mixing wormer with the feed they all except a couple seem to be doing better.

You use the wormer feed pellet or put the powder on top?
