5 months until I head out to hunt with C3guide. I am counting down the days. I have wanted to hunt Texas for 30 years. This is a bucket list dream come true. I have hunted my whole life in North Carolina and now the kids are grown it is time to start a annual adventure. I have spoke to Cody and Diane on the phone and through text and email and all the good things I have read on the forum have got me super pumped. This will be a long summer counting it down.

Coach I've got you beat by a month, I'm scheduled at the end of Sept., I'm set up at Loma Alta. This will be my first with Cody and second for exotics in Texas. I shot a few whitetails while stationed at Ft Hood. What part of NC are you from my family is from the Montgomery County area.

Coach I'm curious what are hunting? Are you flying or driving? I'm driving down from MN I'll overnight in either Lawton OK or Whicita Falls TX. Thanks for mentioning where your at, it's a fair distance, from my kin in NC to where your at.

We will be hunting whitetail this year. But I hope to make this an annual hunt and maybe next year go for an Axis .I have seen so many great pics here on the forum. There are 3 of us so we will drive take our time and enjoy the trip it is about a 22-24 hour drive. We will also hunt the Loma Alta. So I will be waiting to here what you see there.

I've done the trip before, to Lawton OK, for my daughters BOLOC graduation at Ft Sill. I get up a 5:00 am and hit the road by 5:30 and get off the road by 7:00 pm. I find that staying away from driving at night helps. I'll be hunting Axis/Sika my choice.
