Did you want someone to point and say "Oh look! You have a gun." If you carry to get a reaction, then you carry for the wrong reason.

NOT carrying to get a 'reaction', just saying I will carry in my normal mode (shoulder rig...due to a shoulder injury) and report any reactions (or lack thereof). For information's sake only. K?

I've been thinking and that's usually not good so here goes . . .
Maybe we should all show our guns for a while here and there so that the general public gets used to it, sees that we are embracing our returned right and that there are more of us than they may have known about. Not saying always and everywhere but on occasion and in moderation.

If they see my gun...it's too late. They'll have to take up open carry with their maker.

Saw one in Alice Texas. Stopped at the Tx Best on the way home and topped of the tank and grabbed a coffe and the fella in the checkout line in front of me had a 1911 on his hip.

None yet. But I haven't been anywhere that someone might prefer OC over concealed.

Is that not what the new open carry law allows?

Me either. Come to think of it, I've never noticed anyone concealed carry either.

I don't give a damn what you do as long as you are not acting like a knucklehead and causing a scene. Wanna open carry, fine. I love guns. Your actions & behavior is what matters to me. Mind your own business, I'll mind mine, we're good. Act like a pendejo you'll get treated like one.

Open carry has been legal in New Mexico for some time, I was at a burger king a while back and a guy was carrying a Ruger super Blackhawk in 44 Mag. I felt pretty safe eating my whopper.

Good people are staying with conceal carry mostly, this is the way to go in my opinion.

I was going to a movie last Saturday night with my family and was CC. Got to the front, saw a 30.07 sign and said to my wife, I have to go back to the car. Then I realized that there was no 30.06 sign so I was good to go.

I've only seeing people care less about printing and such. For example, I went to lunch today and saw four guys hop out of a SUV, and every one of them was printing very clearly. I could even tell generally what they were carrying, and whether they had a spare mag or not.

Don't know if they'd just taken off from shooting or what, but it's something I haven't seen around town before.

Sitting here eating Mexican food in Lubbock and the guy across the aisle has a glock on his right hip. First open carry I've seen.

Just like the anti-gunning Democrats that said there would be a blood bath when concealed carry became easier to get, we get to see the anti-gun Democrats proven wrong again about another minor change in the gun laws.

I've only seen 4 or 5 others OC in town
I just like being able to use an OWB holster and not care about printing

Printing isn't illegal so even if you are concealed carrying you can print all day and be good.

I saw my first one yesterday evening in Frisco. Some douche had it showing on his side, He could of easily pulled his shirt down and hid it.

He was wearing button down shirt and shorts,

I really see no reason for the general public to wear a handgun exposed in public, Now if he was on his way to hunt and had it on I could see it.

So any person choosing to open carry is a "douche" in your mind? Wow...!

Why would he?

Nobody cares what he was wearing, why does this matter?

Really, I'd like to hear some of those reasons.

Are you of the mind that the Second Amendment or Texas Gun Laws are about hunting?

Did he just really say all that ....WOW
This is why we have such a hard time getting things passed is because of this type of thought
I carry all the time and never really think about if it's covered or not and i have that right to and for some to say i'm a douche for doing that just tells me they may not need to even carry if that their mind thought
